St. Gregorios Medical Mission Hospital, Parumala was inaugurated on the 11th of September 1975 with just 50 beds and 3 departments.
Over fifty years, the hospital grew into a multi-specialty institution with 250+ beds and modern facilities for advanced medical care with 100+ doctors.
The hospital is owned and managed by a charitable society of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, with daily affairs managed by the St. Gregorios Medical Mission Managing Committee.
The hospital is located at Parumala, near Parumala Church, a sacred place associated with Saint Mar Gregorios Thirumeni.
